Computer emotion recognition refers to the use of sensors and algorithms to detect the emotional state of a human. Common techniques include image processing of facial expression and detecting tone of voice. Physiological signs, such as heartbeat and sweat, are also used and can be easier to detect reliably, but typically only give a level of arousal (more or less strong emotion), but not valance (positive or negative emotion).
